Privacy Policy

Last updated: February 2026

1. Overview

Temporal ("we", "us", or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard information when you use our Service, including our website and application. Please read this policy carefully. By using the Service, you consent to the practices described here.

2. Information We Collect

We collect the following categories of information:

Information you provide directly:

  • Email address — when you create an account
  • Account information — name and profile picture from Google OAuth (when you sign in)
  • Task and calendar data — tasks, events, and scheduling preferences you create within the app

Information collected automatically:

  • Usage data — pages visited, features used, clicks, and interactions within the Service
  • Device information — browser type, operating system, and IP address
  • Referral data — if you joined via a referral link, we record the referring user's code

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve the Service
  • Manage your account and subscription
  • Process and display your tasks, events, and schedules
  • Understand how users interact with the Service to improve product quality
  • Send product updates and important notices (you can opt out of marketing emails)
  • Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents

4. Analytics — Mixpanel

We use Mixpanel to collect usage analytics. Mixpanel receives anonymized event data (e.g., "feature clicked", "task created") along with a pseudonymous identifier. We have configured Mixpanel to use their EU data center (api-eu.mixpanel.com) to ensure data is stored within the European Union.

Mixpanel may place cookies or use localStorage to persist your analytics identifier across sessions. You can opt out of Mixpanel tracking by visiting mixpanel.com/optout.

5. Google OAuth

When you sign in with Google, we request access to your basic profile information (name, email, profile picture) and, if you connect Google Calendar, access to your calendar events. We only request the minimum permissions necessary to provide the Service. We do not sell or share your Google data with third parties. You can revoke our access at any time via your Google account settings.

6. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate Temporal:

  • Vercel — hosting and edge delivery of the web application
  • Supabase / PostgreSQL — database storage for your account and task data
  • Mixpanel — product analytics (EU region)
  • Google — authentication and optional Calendar integration
  • OpenAI / Anthropic — AI features such as natural language task parsing and scheduling suggestions

Each third-party provider has its own privacy policy and data handling practices.

7. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. If you request account deletion, we will remove your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it by law.

8. Cookies & Local Storage

We use cookies and localStorage to maintain your session, remember your preferences, and support analytics. Essential cookies (for authentication) are always active. You may disable analytics cookies through your browser settings, though this may affect some features.

9. Your Rights (GDPR / CCPA)

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

  • Access — request a copy of the data we hold about you
  • Rectification — correct inaccurate data
  • Erasure — request deletion of your data
  • Portability — receive your data in a machine-readable format
  • Objection — object to certain processing activities
  • Opt-out of sale (CCPA) — we do not sell personal data

To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at privacy@temporal.day.

10. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including HTTPS encryption, secure session tokens, and access controls to protect your data. However, no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

11. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe we have collected such information, please contact us immediately.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. We will notify you of significant changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. We encourage you to review this policy regularly.
